The Leon Kennedy Resident Evil 9: Requiem Outfit

Leon Kennedy is clearly the best dressed man in the Resident Evil franchise. There's no contest. Chris Redfield is always tac-geared out for practical, calculated performance - no style. Albert Wesker is arguably all style with his neo-gothic American Psycho trench coat ensemble. Ethan Winters, well...he's having a rough life. No time for shopping.

Leon though, he seems to have always known what he was doing from day one. He's introduced in Resident Evil 2 with the standard issue Raccoon Police uniform, but he's got the long-sleeve shirt under the short-sleeve button up. So it's like, "Okay, this guy knows what's up." Then Resident Evil 4 was released and we all realized that he probably shops at TJ Maxx. He looks awesome.

In Requiem, he slaps us with the reality. He's got a degree in fashion and probably employs a personal stylist. His outfits are always the perfect mixture of utility and attitude. Which, I argue, is the perfect indicator that if he does not have someone shopping for him, his wife is dressing him. Who could that be? Afterall, he's got a wedding ring on in the latest Resident Evil game.

Could it be the woman with the most fashionable outfits from day one, Claire Redfield? That makes sense to me. I digress.

Let's see what he's wearing in RE9 and how we can copy his outfit from actual clothing items that's aren't just manufactured for cosplay. I found the highest-rated apparel possible while matching up this outfit and I'll keep it updated based on availability.

Leon Kennedy's Collared Long-Sleeve Shirt

For this one I chose the TACVASEN Athletic Quarter-Zip Pullover. It's pretty much the exact same shirt. You could buy it in any color other than the navy one he wears and, if you pair it with the rest of the outfit, people would know exactly what you're trying to do.

Besides the coat, gloves, and shirt, the Resident Evil 9 outfit for Leon is pretty much the same as his Resident Evil 4 look. You could swap out this shirt for the PLEPAN Muscle V-Neck T-Shirt if you're looking for something short-sleeved instead and it'd be pulling double duty. It'd complete your look and give you a hybrid of the RE4 and RE9 outfits.

Leon's RE9 Gothic Bomber Jacket

Leon's taste in jackets is what appeals to me most, personally. I love these things. I just wish they were more popular so they'd be more readily available. The fact that they're not very common is probably what makes them stand out so much.

The Mifidy Faux Leather Fur Collar Jacket is for more than cosplay. It's premium quality and was designed to mimic the coat Leon wears in the beginning or Requiem. So you'll be able to use this for more than just a Halloween costume or cosplay event.

If you need something more practical that echoes the essence of Leon Kennedy, I would go with HOOD CREW Men’s Faux Leather Motorcycle Jacket. It has a hood, which I love. The red version screams, "Claire picked this out for me because she is my wife, not Ada." While the blue version gives vibes of the old RE2 RPD uniform.

Leon Kennedy's Signature Tactical Pants

At this point, I'm pretty sure Leon wears these pants to bed. Other than the color, he seems to be wearing very similar tactical cargo pants throughout RE2, RE4, and RE9. We might have caught him slipping in RE6 with jeans, but I'd have to go double check.

For pants that complete any Leon Kennedy ensemble, go for the Pillanchor Men's Tactical Cargo Pants or something similar. They're affordable and you can wear them literally any time you're not pretending because they are real, durable pants. I don't have an alternative for these because they're affordable and come in every color, including the RE2 blue.

Leon's Resident Evil Series Boots

The footwear was the hardest thing to nail down for this list. Sometimes it looks like Leon is wearing tennis shoes, sometimes it seems like he's a work boot guy, and other times they do look like a tac boot and tennis shoe hybrid. So I've got two options.

The first candidate is a pair of Workbull Men's 6-Inch Steel Toe Work Boots. They look more tactical than a regular work boot and they have got good reviews. They're the closest match to the Requiem look that I can find.

The second pair is also Workbull and they're the Soft Toe Non-Slip Comfortable Leather Work Boots. These boots are definitely more traditional work boot style, and they seem like the more closely match what he would wear in Resident Evil 4.

If you want tactical boots, I've got some solid advice. Go to Walmart and find the brand Interceptor. They've got some solid options that look like Leon Kennedy boots. I can't find anything tactical with a solid reputation online unless its NORTIV 8.

Leon Kennedy's Requiem Motorcycle Gloves

Throughout the Resident Evil series, Leon consistently wears fingerless tactical gloves. He switches this up in Resident Evil 9 because he's trying to hid the fact that he's been infected with a slow-moving version of the T-Virus since the events of RE2.

For these gloves, I imagine he would use something like these Glove Station Hard Knuckle Utility Gloves, Hard knuckles for punching things in their undead faces and increased grip for riding his motorcycle. They work for all things Leon, including the touchscreen capability for his phone.

Again, there's an opportunity here to wear something a little more comfortable and mix the RE9 outfit with some Resident Evil 2 and 4 style by going with the WTACTFUL Fingerless Tactical Gloves.

Leon RE Clothing & Cosplay Accessories

I won't load this section up just yet, but to start out, a belt is only practical and every Leon Kennedy outfit needs a shoulder holster.

For the belt there's no question: This JUKMO Tactical Belt is one of the most purchased and highest rated tactical belts on Amazon. This one specifically looks like something Leon would wear to me, but if you want some other options in the tac belt space just check out the JUKMO Store. All of their options seem to be top-tier.

In Resident Evil Requiem, the shoulder holster Leon wears looks pretty custom and specifically designed for the game. Especially when it comes to the holster for the Requiem hand cannon. It seems to be some sort of full-body MOLLE military apparatus and I couldn't find anything like it anywhere.

However, I do actually own this VOPOCO Shoulder Holster with Double Magazine Pouch, and I bought it because it looks like what Leon uses in Resident Evil 4. I bought it alongside my Springfield Armory XD9 Model 4 handgun - the XD9 is what Leon's Blacktail was loosely modeled after. Anyways, this shoulder holster also comes in black, and either color will pull the Leon Kennedy outfit aesthetic together if you choose to use one.

That's it for now! I'm a Resident Evil nerd and Leon Kennedy fanboy, obviously. So I'll be back to update and add more eventually. Thanks for reading!
